Racial Exploitation will come to an end in this generation. Black’s contribution to America, a record once denied, disregarded, and disrespected, will finally be acknowledged.

Gen Z and millennials will help determine how we will recreate the systems that have denied justice and equality, used excessive force, mass incarcerated Black men, and enslaved Blacks.

The Black Lives Matter Movement is way more that an awareness campaign for this generation. I believe that our society is forced to see the realities and cruelties of this countries fore fathers and can no longer claim to be blind.

By the grace of God, may our history help all people advance the Kingdom of God together standing against the evils of racism.

- Hamish Reed

RESILIENCY STARTS WITH YOU!

Resilient Roots is dedicated to improving the lives of young people by helping them navigate life’s challenges and inspiring individual achievement through personal mentoring, workshops and exposure to cultural events.
Reaching This Generation
"And also all that generation were gathered after their fathers: and there arose another generation after them, which knew not the Lord, nor yet the works he had done..."   Judges 2:10 (KJV)

There are three generations on earth: those over 40 years old, those under 40 years old, and those in the womb.
These generations are active in the cycle of time and history: people, places, culture, and community. It is a cycle of great advancements for the improvement of life in individuals, families, communities, and countries as well as the plights of injustices, iniquity, and transgressions. History has documented both well.

Which leads to the question: What is and what will be your history?
How do we respond as one generation passes, the other takes its place and the next is born?

Resilient Roots Guiding Principles

Resilient Roots infuses three guiding principles into every sphere of influence.

Reconciliation is a bringing together of two or more parties that have been driven apart or are at enmity with each other. This could be due to some past misunderstanding, difference of opinion or hurt that has been inflicted on one or both parties or their ancestors. Reconciliation is the healing of a fractured relationship.

“All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” 2 Corinthians 5:18 (NIV)

Restoration is the return of something pre-existing to its previous owner or condition. It is also the act of returning something that was taken.

“I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten ... You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, and praise the name of the Lord your God … And my people shall never again be put to shame.” Joel 2:25-26 (ESV)

Renewal is the action of establishing something again or anew, the action of carrying something on over a period of time, or the process of being carried toward healing.
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31 (KJV)

Black Wall Street Project

We take a look at a pivotal time in American history that has shaped the future, and the culture as we know it today.

Resiliency is...
RECOVERY

We believe that confronting the past is the only way to foster stronger social bonds for the future success. We must work to celebrate cultural diversity and reverse the negative outcomes that have resulted from systemic discrimination.

Resiliency is...
growth

In generations past, men were drafted into the military to go to war. Today, men and women volunteer to enter the military to defend their country.

We need men today with a heart of willingness to be drafted and a heart of volunteering to fight in the war on behalf of individuals and families, to be the restorers and the rebuilders of the church and communities.

Resiliency is...
education

Promote awareness, provide education, and initiate an action plan to become “repairers” and “restorers” of this generation through a Biblical approach to re-establish and create those “foundations” and to reverse generational cycles of poverty, indigence, loss of educational opportunities, broken family relationships, and loss of employment opportunity goals.
